Tricky Tray Fundraisertt_definition

Each year Sussex County 4-H sponsors a Tricky Tray Fundraiser to raise money to pay off the mortgage on the Phoebe and Ralph Shotwell 4-H Exhibit Hall on the Sussex County Fairgrounds. This building provides much needed space for Sussex County 4-H clubs to exhibit their projects at the NJ State Fair/Sussex County Farm and Horse Show. The building is also used for 4-H events throughout the year and is made available for use by other local organizations as well.

Sussex County 4-H is made up of clubs, programs and activities that engage over 700 youth and 150 adult volunteers. 4-H prepares its members to become caring and contributing members of our community. Whether learning to care for a pet, raise livestock, safely use a rifle, cook, sew, practice crafts or learn about science, 4-H members learn and practice values such as trust, respect and responsibility.

Many local organizations support our fundraiser through the donation of products or services from their business. These donations are featured at the Tricky Tray and donors are acknowledged in our program for the event. Tricky Tray donations are a great way to promote your business while supporting local youth.

The Sussex County 4-H Foundation is recognized as a 501 c -3 not-for-profit corporation. As such your donation is tax deductible under the amount permissible by law.

If you are interested in donating to the Tricky Tray, please contact Michelle Teitsma, teitsma@rce.rutgers.edu or by phone at 973-948-3040
